Terms of Service
Last updated: July 1, 2026
These terms govern your use of Downbeat, a communications tool operated by Tahoma Band Boosters(the “Organization”). By registering or using the service, you agree to these terms.
The service
Downbeat lets the Organization send band-program updates to families through two channels: time-sensitive updates by text message (SMS) and non-urgent updates by email. It also serves as the Organization’s roster of program members.
The service is intended for the Organization’s high school band program — students in grades 9–12 and their parents or guardians.
Acceptable use
Use the service only for its intended purpose. Do not attempt to disrupt it, access accounts or data that aren’t yours, or use it to send unlawful, harassing, or unauthorized messages. Organization staff must only message families who have opted in and only about program matters.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate contact information and keep it up to date.
- Only register a student you are authorized to register as a parent or guardian.
- Keep sign-in links, access codes, and one-time codes private; they are for your use only.
Messaging consent
By opting in, you consent to receive the messages described above. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of SMS by replying STOP and opt out of email using the unsubscribe link in any email. For help, reply HELP to any text or contact us at admin@tahomabandboosters.org. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. Message delivery depends on third-party carriers and providers and is not guaranteed. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organization is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages or for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
Time-sensitive SMS alerts are best-effort and may be delayed or fail to arrive. Do not rely on them as your only source of time-sensitive or emergency information.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top reflects the most recent change; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Washington, and any dispute arising from them or from use of the service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington. Questions? Contact us at admin@tahomabandboosters.org or through our Contact us page.
